Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile Holds Farewell Tea for Outgoing Members of the Standing Committee of the 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile
Dharamsala: The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile today hosted a farewell tea party for outgoing members of the Standing Committee of the 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, MPs Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar, Geshe Ngaba Gangri and Choedak Gyatso.
President Khenpo Sonam Tenphel thanked the outgoing parliamentarians for their cooperation during the last year of work as members of the Standing Committee of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile.
The President mentioned that over the past year, the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, with the support and contribution of the members of the Standing Committee, has made significant achievements, including the re-launch of the International Network of Parliamentarians on Tibet ( INPaT), the revival of the All Party Indian Parliamentary Forum for Tibet (APIPFT), hosting 8e Global Convention of Parliamentarians on Tibet in Washington DC, sensitization of Indian lawmakers in Delhi, visit to Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, official visit programs across India, etc.
The Tibetan Parliament in Exile also had the opportunity to host the US Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues, Undersecretary Uzra Zeya, and many other dignitaries from the Parliamentary Secretariat and also held a parliamentary brainstorming and strategy meeting. The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile held four parliamentary sessions last year, the president added.
Finally, the President wished them every success in their future projects as parliamentarians and presented them with the traditional scarves as a sign of gratitude.
