The subcommittee instructs people with disabilities to submit details of the projects carried out to Batkhela

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – November 22, 2021): The Senate Housing and Works Subcommittee was tasked on Monday to submit full details of projects carried out at Batkhela by the Pakistan Works Department (PWD) to the during the last year in the next meeting.
The body met under the chairmanship of Senator Kamil Ali Agha here in Parliament, which was attended by Senator Afnan Ullah Khan and officials from PWD and the Ministry of Housing and Works.
The body also examined allegations of corruption, embezzlement and embezzlement in the Pak PWD Batkhela division, as the local Peshawar newspaper reported in May 2021.
Ministry officials informed the committee that the report submitted by the executive engineer of the project’s civilian division, Pak PWD Batkhela, had been reviewed and found convincing.
In this regard, he said that the plaintiffs have also taken the cases to the courts. However, the court agreed with the department’s position, therefore, their appeals were dismissed, as the complaints were made on ulterior motives that lacked concrete reality.
The official further informed that publicity for the tenders was available in newspapers as well as on the PPRA website. However, all tenders and contracts were awarded in a transparent manner, in accordance with PPRA rules, to the lowest bidder.
According to the response submitted by ministry officials, a number of 41 tube wells were installed, 22 in Dera Ismail Khan, nine in Khyber and 10 in Peshawar.
The chairman of the committee asked PWD officials to present full details of the project announcement, PC-I and handover documents regarding the handover of the project to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s government.
Senator Afnan Ullah Khan suggested that contractors should be reprimanded for wasting time in the ministry as well as in this august committee forum.
