SWR organizes a meeting of the departmental advisory committee of railway users

Mysore/Mysore: South West Railway (SWR), Mysuru Division, on Thursday held a meeting with members of the new Divisional Railway Users Advisory Committee (DRUCC) in the conference room of the office of the Divisional Director of Railways in the city.

A total of 9 members representing various forums, sectors and elected member representatives from across the division attended the meeting chaired by Rahul Agarwal, Divisional Director of Railways, Mysuru Division.

Various issues relating to the improvement of passenger services under the jurisdiction of Mysuru Division were discussed during the meeting.

In his inaugural address, Rahul Agarwal highlighted the remarkable achievements of SWR Mysuru Division during the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 fiscal years even amid the Covid pandemic affecting the entire world. He informed that various initiatives have been taken for the development of infrastructure at various stations in the division and said that the highest priority was given to the safety and security of passengers and that the Mysuru division was committed to developing and to provide better facilities for rail users.

DRUCC members discussed various issues such as improving passenger facilities at Davangere, Harihar and Haveri stations, increasing the frequency of train services from Mysuru to Dadar, Ajmer and Nizamuddin from weekly and bi-weekly to four days a week, speeding up of all high-speed train running in Mysuru-Bengaluru section, increase in AC coaches in Malgudi Express running between Mysuru-Bengaluru, new rail services linking Mysuru to Karnataka coastal region via Hassan and Mangaluru, restoration of all rail services from Talguppa and Shivamogga town to Chennai and Mysuru which were operated during the pre-covid period and also to start new train services from Shivamogga station linking various state capitals like Secunderabad and Bhubaneswar and requested to expedite the work of the autoc assistance center ars sanctioned at Kotegangur near Shivamogga.

Members expressed their satisfaction with the development activities undertaken by the division, including cleanliness, the introduction of special trains, the increase in coaches, etc., and appreciated the efforts made to have various works sanctioned, including the expansion of Mysuru and Naganahalli stations.

Rahul Agarwal assured that all their suggestions would be looked into and dealt with appropriately within a time frame.

Jain, Secretary General, Passenger Committee, Davangere, BS Chandrashekara, Secretary, Nanjangud Industries Association, Srinivas Murthy, Advisor, MMEC Siding Logistics, Mahavir Chand Bhansali, Hon. Treasurer, Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Dhanpal, Chairman, Hassan District Chamber of Commerce and Industry, SS Uday Kumar, Director, Shivamogga District Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Lakshmisagara Cheluve Gowda and Chinnaiah, appointed by the MP for Lok Sabha represented the Committee. Other Divisional Managers of Railways I & II Devasahayam and E. Vijaya, Manjunath Kanamadi, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Mysuru, Lohitheshwar, Senior Divisional Operations Manager, K. Ravichandran, Senior Divisional Engineer (Coordination) and others senior officers attended the meeting.
