Oakhurst Community Forum to Promote Madera County Policy Discussion
WHOLESALE GOLD — The Madera Oversight Coalition (MOC) and Sierra Citizens for Sensible Waste Management will be hosting a community forum on Madera County’s response to organic waste regulations and transportation issues on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the Oakhurst Community Center beginning at 6:30 p.m. The community center is located at 39800 425B, Oakhurst.
Presentations will include an update by Sierra Citizens for Sensible Waste Management on the county’s waste management program and their plans to add a third bin to our garbage service for an additional fee.
The group will also discuss the new T ½ cent measure renewal road tax in the November ballot, extending the tax forever without voter participation. The current Measure T tax will expire in 2027.
Each of these elements – waste management and transportation – will permanently affect all residents of the rural county. People are encouraged to attend the forum and learn about these issues before voting in November.
One of the primary goals of the MOC is to encourage responsible growth through compliance with California land use law and general Madera County policies and to promote the health, safety and welfare of the public in Madera County.
