Mayo will host a virtual community forum to discuss “A Tale of 2 Viruses”
Posted at 9:39 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022
With the declaration of monkeypox as a public health emergency, many are wondering if widespread outbreaks are possible, as with COVID-19. Join health system experts at Mayo Clinic from noon to 1 p.m. on September 23 for the virtual community forum. The subject will be “A story of two viruses”.
Mayo Clinic Health System infectious disease specialist Raj Palraj, MBBS, MD, will contrast monkeypox with COVID-19 and offer advice on how to guard against both diseases. Dr. Palraj will be joined in a panel by Paul Mueller, MD, regional vice president of Mayo Clinic Health System in southwestern Wisconsin, and Jennifer Livingston Thompson, director of community engagement. The panel will devote time to questions from the community.
