group congratulates the Buni committee for uniting Enugu APC | The Guardian Nigeria News
The Enugu State branch of the Zikist-Buhari-Movement (ZBM) has commended the Extraordinary Convention Interim and Planning Committee (CECPC) led by Mai Mala Buni of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for uniting party factions in the state.
He also commended the committee for withholding the return certificate for the state chapter. Chief Ugochukwu Agballah, who claimed to have walked out of the party’s state congress held last year, had come out to receive the certificate, but the party’s national leadership prevented him from collecting it.
In a statement released by ZBM Publicity Secretary Victor Nwankwo, the group described the CECPC action as an important step in the unification of APC in Enugu State and the cessation of alleged taxation by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma.
He therefore called on Buni and the CECPC not to succumb to Uzodimma’s lobbying to impose Agballah on the state section of the party.
Meanwhile, the APC presidential candidates forum for the 2022 Enugu State Council election had, in a letter to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Alkali Usman Baba , accused Agballah of falsifying documents about his party membership.
