Democratic Committee to Hold Candidates’ Forum Tuesday | News
A second and final candidates’ forum organized by the Yuba County Democratic Central Committee for the upcoming direct primary elections on June 7 will be held on Tuesday.
Scheduled to take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Mountain Mike’s Pizza at 606 J St. in Marysville, several contestants vying for hotly contested races in the area have confirmed their attendance.
Those planning to participate include: Zachary Cross and Jon Messick, Yuba County District Five Supervisor Candidates; Yuba County District 1 Supervisor Candidates Kristopher Kramer and Eric Mallow; Yuba County Water Agency, South Division nominee Wayne Bishop; California State Assembly District 3 candidate David Leon Zink and written candidate Jeanenne Hoston; Francisco Reveles, Yuba County Schools Superintendent, and Anna Meyerpeter-Newman, challenger; and Yuba County Clerk candidates Donna Hillegass and Tambra Courtright.
Eleanore Rewerts of the Yuba County Democratic Central Committee said Yuba County supervisor candidates Bob Bagley and Andy Vasquez did not respond to multiple requests to participate.
Rewerts said the forum format will include a 5-minute introduction by a candidate followed by a short question-and-answer period.
“Anyone interested in learning more about these candidates is welcome,” Rewerts said. “No prior registration is required.”
The Yuba-Sutter Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the Appeal-Democrat, previously hosted two candidate forums that featured all of the candidates vying for contested races in Sutter and Yuba counties. In addition to articles previously written by the Appeal, videos of the forums are available on the chamber’s Facebook page.
