Newtown Middle School will host the first of many school safety forums.
Council Rock School District will host the first in a series of community safety and security forums at Newtown Middle School. Jeff Werner wrote on the security forums for the Patch Newtown, Pennsylvania.
The school safety talks are a response to the school shooting that took place in Uvalde, Texas. The forums will give the community and school officials the opportunity to discuss measures that will keep students safe.
“During the Superintendent’s search, the community ranked safety and security as the top priority, which is one of the reasons we will be starting our community forums with this topic,” said Andrew Sanko, Superintendent of school.
Joined by representatives from local police departments, emergency responders and staff, Sanko will attend the events to discuss Council Rock’s plans to keep students and staff safe.
“We will continue to have this strong working relationship with our police departments,” Sanko said.
The first of several forums is scheduled for the college auditorium on August 10 at 8 p.m. The forums are open to the public; those wishing to ask questions may submit them in writing by August 9.
