APGA and APC at odds over 80-member transition committee

The All Progressives Grand Alliance and the All Progressives Congress are at odds over the 80-member transition committee released by Anambra State Governor-elect Prof. Chukwuma Soludo on Thursday.

National Coordinator, APGA Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, said some of the backlash following the release of the list was unnecessarily aimed at overheating the regime.

Obigwe, who spoke to reporters in Awka on Friday, stressed that there was nothing wrong with the roster number as all the members were eminently qualified.

He said, “A lot of things will be done differently under Soludo’s leadership as Governor of Anambra State and he has already started doing that with the composition of his transition committee members.

“The impression created by the diabolical agents of discord about this list of the transitional committee is misleading and should be ignored by sane minds. There is no such thing as a war between the governor-elect and the incumbent governor occasioned by the list as people mistakenly insinuate.

However, Deputy Director of Media and Publicity, Senator Andy Uba Governorship Campaign Organisation, Mr. Ikechukwu Onyia, in his reaction, called the transition list “outrageous” and “ambiguous”.

Onyia, who spoke to our correspondent, maintained that Soludo did not need a crowd to form a change of government, but a team.

Onyia said: “We are in court to question the whole process that produced Soludo, making legitimate claims regarding the outcome of the elections, as law-abiding citizens we are not going to interrupt the transition process.

“But for us, even if we contest the election, we think the number is ambiguous, you don’t amuse ndi Anambra with such numbers. This time around, we should be looking at a team that can put together the right process that will lead to state governance, not a crowd.

“You don’t need a crowd to run governance; all you need is a team with a directive. The list of 80 members is totally outrageous.
