Ms Surendran was excluded from the national executive committee while another leader, PK Krishnadas, was appointed only a special guest at the forum.

Mr. Ramesh is seen as a trusted lieutenant of Mr. Krishnadas while Ms. Surendran does not belong to any of the factions.
