2023: Atiku forms 324-man committee ahead of official declaration in Abuja

- Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is on the march again as he prepares for his sixth bid to become Nigeria’s president
- The former vice president will officially declare his intention to occupy Aso Rock on Wednesday, March 23
- To ensure a smooth process in his quest to preside over the country, a committee has been set up to work for the former vice president as he embarks on a new political journey.
FCT, Abuja- Ahead of his formal declaration of candidacy for the 2023 general election, former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar formed a 324-person committee.
The Punch newspaper reports that the committee is expected to work out the modalities for the event to be held today, Wednesday, March 23, at the Abuja International Conference Centre.

According to the report, the committee further includes subgroups including medical, secretarial, special tasks, logistics and transportation, among others.

It would be Atiku’s sixth shot at the presidency after contesting in 1993, 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019.
2023: Atiku faces huge battle in PDP presidential primary election
Atiku is expected to battle with other politicians including Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal for the PDP presidential ticket.
Others in the running for the PDP ticket are former Senate President Bukola Saraki; Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi; former Governor of Kano, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and former President of the Senate and Secretary to the Federation Government, Pius Anyim.
Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and media personality Dele Momodu have also expressed interest in securing the party’s 2023 presidential ticket.
2023: ABC Professor Nwosu insists on Igbo Presidency
Meanwhile, a PDP board member, Prof. ABC Nwosu insisted that the PDP give its presidential ticket to a politician from the south east.

Professor Nwosu, a former health minister and former commissioner of former Anambra State, said this in a conversation with a Legit.ng journalist in Abuja.
He said the 2023 general election is the best opportunity for an Igbo man or woman to emerge as Nigerian President.
His words:
“My personal mission is to ensure that an Igbo man or woman emerges as the PDP presidential candidate and ultimately President of Nigeria in 2023.
“It’s the turn of the Igbos if you consider fairness, justice and other cues to keep the country together. I hope the PDP will stick to that and zone the ticket to the south- East.
2023: Green Nigeria Movement rejects presidential candidates over 70
The Green Nigeria Movement (GNM) has said it will not support any presidential candidate over the age of 70.
The group revealed this on Tuesday, March 22 during a breakfast consultation with civil society organizations held in Abuja.

2023: Nigerian Youth Forum endorses Tambuwal as next President
Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, a coalition of youth groups under the Nigerian Youths Forum, NYF endorsed Tambuwal as the next Nigerian President.
The NYF made this known by informing reporters, including one Legit.ng journalist in Abuja on Friday March 4th.
NYF organizer Comrade Elochukwu Agwu said Governor Tambuwal is a leader young Nigerians can easily relate to, hence his endorsement by the coalition.
