Earth Sciences Division Earth System Observatory Community Forum – June 30, 2021

Status report from: NASA Science Mission Directorate
Posted: Thursday June 24 2021

Continuing our efforts to communicate our progress towards the implementation of the 2017 Ten-Year Survey, we invite you to join us from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. EST on June 30 for the Observatory Community Forum. Earth Systems Division of the Earth Sciences Division.

This forum will provide an overview of the evolution of the Earth System Observatory (ESO) and our plans for the missions that make up this future Earth observation architecture, and provide a platform for any questions you may have. This meeting will be virtual only. Information about the meeting and WebEx appears at the end of this message.

We invite you to submit your questions before the forum at / j7bx / #! / dashboard.

The measurements collected by ESO will help answer the most pressing questions on our changing planet, as identified by the 2017 Decadal Survey, “Thriving on Our Changing Planet: A Ten-Year Strategy for Observing Earth from Space. Each of the five “designated observables” that make up the core of ESO will alone provide important environmental metrics. But it is by bringing them together, into a single observatory, that NASA will explore the connections between the complex systems of our home planet and improve our ability to predict future changes. We will do the community forum presentation and other media available online as and when they become available.
